12:09 am

Why do I do my best thinking and sewing so late. I have a job interview at one tomorrow and all I could do is look at blogs. Oh yes the rain is hitting the roof and it is so relaxing. I think I am ready to go to sleep. I will think about where to get a cheap car to get around tomorrow.

Here is a pretty flower. Never hurts.

Sunday

Well last night I ended up finishing a top. I wrote about it earlier. I only showed one block. Here is the whole thing.

I just noticed that I will be posting my 100 post soon. It has taken me years because the funny thing is, I don't like to write. I started this to get me over that dislike. I still don't care to write, but I don't mind blogging. It is shorter and if I don't feel like doing it that day, I don't.

Anyway, back to the picture.

Saturday morning

This morning I was woken up by my daughter asking to take care of my granddaughter. I was a little grumpy because I didn't sleep much last night. She left a little upset. After I woke up a minute later I remembered I told her I would help with her. I got dressed and went downstairs and told her that I would take Olivia out for a walk. W went goecaching and it turned out super. We saw beautiful flowers and things. It was her first cache. I am glad I changed my attitude. That walk was just what I needed.

Now to do it again.

Friday sewing

What do you do at 4:00 in the morning when you can't sleep?

Sew!

I finished the last little trash bag. I tried to go to sleep at midnight and ended up waking up at 3:30. I just said forget trying to go back to sleep, I might as well do something productive. I made some for my quilting friends and I had an order for 4 for Christmas presents. What takes the longest is picking out the little squares. I was thinking of selling these on Etsy. What do you think?

I am keeping the pink one for me. Every time I make one for me, I end up giving it away. Not this time. It is mine!

Fun fact

I went to the Tualatin Libuary today. (yes I visit libraries a lot). While I was there I was reading the current Reader's Digest magazine. In it was a real cool word;

Squirrelled: 11 letters; the longest monosyllabic English word.

Anything with "Squirrel" in it has to be cool!

Wednesday

Started the day by going to the Libuary to go job hunting. I applied at one place and I have 3 more possibilities.

I stopped and smelled roses along the way. These are a few pictures of them. If you look close at one of them you will see a busy bee hard at work.

I am going to finish sewing more of the bright blocks I started the other day. I have made 20 and I only have 10 more to go.

New project

You would think with all the UFOs I have I would sew on one of them? Nope. I an starting a charity quilt. It is a simple pattern. I picked up some free sample fabric from my guild during the last meeting. It was a pile of bright butterfly fabric.

This is the block I am making and there is the pile of fabrics. I will see how much is left over when I finish the quilt. I am only making a youth quilt about 45 x 60. I will only need 30 blocks.

I need to work on some of my own stuff too. I am definitely a starter and sometime finisher.

Days journey post 2

Here is a picture of some of the art work they have at some of the stops.

I am also doing my geocaching at the same time. My first cache in Gresham.

I stopped in at the Craft Warehouse and they had a quilting club! Of course I am stopping to play! Woo Hoo!

FNSI, Day Journey post 3

Well all turned out great. I did 2 caches, attended a quilting group, went to the Portland Library and met with my small quilt group.

I ended up making 2 of my hexies. My pile of other projects are still at home next to my sewing machine. It was a blast of a day.

Days journey post 1

I decided that today I was going to go out and spend the day on public transportation. (I guess it will have to, since my car died).

6:30 am wake up. 7:30 caught my bus by my house.

Bought breakfast  $3.20.

Caught transfer. More later.

Oh yes. $2.50 for first day pass. $5.00 for other bus line day pass.

Sewing on Sunday

I just love to make small quick things. I have made quite a few of these for friends and here is the next one.

This one is for Fran. She LOVES red. I have about 5 more for specific people. 4 are for Lorle's Christmas presents and one more is for another friend of mine.

The hardest part is cutting up the little squares. 24 per basket.
