New Life

Well I went out GeoCaching on the 4th and had a beautiful day.  I ended up finding 3 things that I would never had seen if I didn't go out.

Mount St. Helen
This is the view I saw from Sky line Road outside of Portland.
Banana Slug
This is some of the native wild life. (Don't lick him, your tongue will go numb, or so a coworker told me.)

Native tree
This was on a path I took looking for a Cache. Notice the hole in the base. Here is what was inside:

Mushroom Village
Couldn't you just picture small mystical beings living in there. Maybe they only come out when we are all away.

Now on to the next adventure and cache.

I have been quilting too. I started a Grandmother's flower garden using 1 inch hexies (across the points in the center) I will work on it until it tells me I am done. I am doing it by English Paper Piecing methods.

I hope everyone has a great day.

  2. How nice that you are doing a hexagon quilt. I love those things and find them very addictive. Love your photo of Mt. St. Helens. We were there about 10 years after the eruption. Not much green at that time, but it was already starting to reclaim the natural flora and fauna. I find it amazing how soon nature reclaims itself. Don't worry I won't lick it! Yuck!
