I just had to post this blossom. It was hanging on my girlfriends back porch. Isn't it beautiful?
Don't ask me what the name is. She told me, but I forgot.

Here is my progress on the class I took Saturday. All I plan to add is one or two borders. I am surprised on how fast I am finishing this. I have a friend who wants me to make a bigger one for her niece's wedding present. She is getting married in June. Two months to make the quilt. The funny thing is I can't wait to start. I will be getting together with her Wednesday.
The model at the bottom is my oldest daughter's little boy, Natsumi. That means "beautiful summer". It is a girls name. The three litter mates, all three, are all boys. We thought they were all girls. Nope, all boys, Natsumi, Frisky and Grei. MaryJane came six years later.
Well here is the class I took at Northwest Quilters quilt show Saturday. It was called,"It takes Seven Sisters" by Gyleen X. Fitzgerald. If you ever have the opportunity to take a class from her, do it. She has a wealth of information to give and she takes the time to teach you the information.
I added pictures of the pattern and of the 5 blocks that I made. I wasn't sure if I had enough very dark fabric to make 7 stars, but I do. I just wanted to make a small wall hanging. Being me, I decided that I want to try this in a smaller size. This starts out with a 3 inch strip. I want to try a 1 1/2 inch strip since I have so many.
The last is of my first blocks before break and one of my many sewing machines. I even included my happy solar powered flower my good friend Elaine gave to me at a retreat. This way, she was able to go to the class through me. She had to take care of her mother. Another story.
Anyway, off to quilt with another group today Sunday, "Tina's Angels". We make charity quilts from a ton of donated fabric. Again another story.
Well I'm off to go to the Northwest Quilters quilt show. I am taking a class today. I will Blogg more about it today. With pictures even!
It was amazing! I was sitting watching a show and Inspector 12 sat on the table in front of me and caught a FLY! Right in front of me! The amazing thing is she has no front claws. She was going to eat it, (yuck!) It got away. I had to praise her and praise her, over and over. She is such a good hunter.
OMG! I am one of those "Crazy Cat Ladies"! All I talk about is my cats.
Oh well.
Here is a new idea http://mychellem.blogspot.com/2013/04/lego-quilt-update.html?showComment=1365673712768&m=1#c2305762534850057139 has a "LEGO QUILT" I hope the link works. I am going to work on one. It is all small 1 1/2 inch wide scraps. Can't wait to try.
I am currently finishing a quilt that is going to be in The Northwest Quilters quilt show this week. Last minute of course.
Again HRH inspector 12 had to have a say in things. Time for a break.
I decided that I am going to put the binding on by machine. If I try it any other way, it will never get done.
It was a good day today. I woke up early after not getting enough sleep last night, and spent the day with a couple of girlfriends. We went to the Clark county quilt show in Vancouver Washington. It is one of the shows I look forward to every year. It is not a hugh show, it is perfect. they have over 240 quilts. there theme was red and white quilts they were gorgeous. I really enjoy looking at their charity work.
I will add some of the pictures at the end because that is the way blogger does it.
First (I hope) will be of my 2 friend June (left) and Fran (right),. They are a hoot! I quilt with them in my small quilt group. They give
Plenty of advice and laughs.
The second is of the ladies sewing at the show. They at all awesome ladies. I told them that I wanted to put them on my Blogg and they said as long as it wasn't close up pictures. Aren't we all the same!
Lastly some of the quilts.
Enjoy
Here are some of the flowers I rediscovered while mowing my lawn Wednesday. The tulips were opened, but because it was raining they closed up. They have the most vibrant yellow and black centers. My favorite is the bleeding heart plant in the back. They keep returning each year. They came with the house.
More to come later.
